Application Requirements

To apply, just follow the steps below. Be sure to read the section on selection criteria for further information.

Applicants will need to submit the following:

• A completed and signed application with an official academic transcript and a recent, nonreturnable photograph of themselves, labeled with their name, address, and telephone number
• A 1- or 2-page essay describing how they are living beyond the boundaries of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) to demonstrate academic ambition and personal achievement, and how the scholarship would impact their life
• A minimum of 2 (maximum of 3) letters of recommendation. One letter should come from a teacher or school official and 1 from a person in the applicant's community (eg, employer, coworker, clergy member, or coach)
• Confirmation of RA diagnosis from the treating physician on his or her letterhead
